Death Date: October 30, 1977

Anthony Collins is the only child born to Marriah and Rowden Collins. Marriah is the first child born to Rafe and Phine Fagan.

Anthony was the first Black to run for office in Jonesville. He was a candidate for town Alderman. He taught Agriculture as a high school teacher in Jonesville for 30 years at Catahoula Parish Training School. He was Superintendent to the Sunday School at Ackland Baptist Church and the President of the Senior Choir. 

He was easy to get along with and enjoyed teaching. He often encouraged his male students to be their best and to present as gentlemen. He was a caring and giving husband and father, as well as, a cherished member of the community.

At the age of 64, Marriah lived in Jonesville, Louisiana with her son, Anthony Jerry “AJ” Collins, his wife (Beulah S Collins – age 40) and her three grandchildren – Jeron A Collins (4), Cora M Collins (2), and Rowden L Collins (1).
