Millie Thomas Whitley is the second child born to Fannie and Sims Thomas and the oldest of seven daughters. Millie married Archie Whitley and they raised four boys – Archie “AW”, Henry “Rico”, Sim and Mose. The couple purchased a home in Oakland, CA where they raised their family. Millie was a strong and determined parent, wife and friend.

Fun fact: Archie Whitley was the brother of Frank Thomas’ wife – Irene Whitley. These siblings were each a surviving twin. Frank assisted Millie and Archie in establishing a janitorial business.

The couple met in Jonesville and later moved their children to Oakland, CA for a new beginning. As a family they purchased a home in Oakland where they raised their four sons. Millie is currently survived by her only living son, Sim Whitley.

Archie “AW” Whitley was married to O’dell Toliver Whitley. In this union they had two children, Sharon and Michael Whitley. His oldest child is Stanley. AW is survived by Stanley and Michael.

Henry “Rico” Whitley was married to Elnora Tolliver (sister to O’dell Toliver). From this union they had one son, Dulani Whitley. Rico has three grandchildren.

Sim Whitley is the only surviving son. He is married to
