Frank Thomas was the first born child to Fannie and Sims Thomas. He had one brother (Jessie) and seven sisters (Millie, Mary, Jesse, Essie, Josie, Bernice, and Janie).
Frank Thomas later married Irene Whitley. Together they raised their only son, Frank Thomas, Jr. Prior to his marriage, Frank Thomas and Sallie Mae Whitehorn, gave birth to his only daughter, Sue Sapp. The children were raised in separate households with the commitment and care of a loving father.
Frank Thomas was a hard working young man and committed to his family. Frank Thomas obtained a third grade education and was later able to send his brother, Jessie to college. The two made every effort to support their sisters. Frank was a man of hard work and integrity.
Frank Thomas relocated to Ca in the pursuit of employment opportunities in the west. He was able to purchase a home in San Francisco and successively helped many of his siblings relocate to Ca. Frank assisted his family in securing lodging and employment.. All of his siblings went on to own their own home (with their spouse or alone) and Frank Thomas was a constant wise voice that helped and encouraged his siblings to invest in themselves.
Frank Thomas was not a flashy man. He was humble and modest and most of all he was dependable. He was kind to his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Frank Thomas died in Oakland, CA. He was survived by his wife, Irene, his two children (Sue & Frank) and his grandchildren (Ronnie, Craig, Gerald “Eric”, Reponza, Kevin, Kimberly, and Ellen).
